The Kijana Global Innovation School’s talented students have once again showcased their dedication and passion on a national stage, shining brightly at the Kenya Music Festival (KMF).
The Kenya Music Festival is truly a remarkable annual event. Overseen by the Ministry of Education, it’s the largest festival of its kind in East and Central Africa, bringing together over 3 million participants from educational institutions across the country. With more than 600 categories in music, dance, and elocution, KMF is far more than just a competition. It’s a vital platform for instilling positive values and addressing critical societal issues among our youth. This prestigious festival, patronized by His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Kenya, has a rich history dating back to 1948 and culminates in a national event that rotates across different regions to ensure broad accessibility.
Kijana’s Global Innovation School excelled at the Butere sub-county level. Our students then went on to present more than twenty-one diverse items at the county level! This outstanding achievement is a testament to their hard work, the dedication of our teachers, and the vibrant arts programs that flourish at the school. These opportunities allow our students to develop their talents, build confidence, and become well-rounded individuals.

From sub-county champions to county competitors! Our Kijana School Giriama dance performance was outstanding, securing 1st place locally and an impressive 7th out of 12 at the tough county festival. What a journey.
Absolute brilliance from our Indian dance group. They clinched 2nd place at the sub-county level and held onto it through the county competition. Now, they are set to represent the school in Kakamega at the Regional Level at Kaimosi University. What talent!

Our Kijana School German dancers gave it their all. They performed admirably at the sub-county stage, showing their dedication even when facing tough competition at the county level. Well done!
The moment before magic. Daniel Wandera and his band, prepped for competition at the county level. Their hard work paid off big time, landing them in 2nd place and securing their spot to represent the school in Kakamega County at the Regional Level! So proud!

Bravo Amelia Mayarah (Grade 8), pictured with her violin. She is one of many talented students who performed. We are also proud to congratulate the following students who are advancing to the Regional level: David Kings (Grade 6), 1st out of 24 in the keyboard category, and to Fredrick Awour and Joy Obora, who always impress with their solo trumpet verses. And, Faith Rajula (Grade 3) is also advancing with her remarkable solo set piece in German. What an amazing group of musicians.
