For almost five years, Onego Primary has been a dedicated partner in our tree planting efforts. They’ve successfully planted 2,000 trees on their campus, providing shade and a natural learning space for students. Even more impressively, they’ve distributed over 7,000 seedlings to students and the community, spreading the gift of green far and wide.
This program teaches valuable lessons, connecting students directly to nature and fostering a love for the environment. The community’s enthusiastic support has amplified the impact, showing how collective action can create powerful, lasting change.

From our patron:
“Much thanks to the Kijana Educational Empowerment Initiative program, which has transformed our school into a friendly, cool, and admirable place to be. Our school now looks beautiful and attractive. Learners have been taught the importance of unity when planting trees and the value of generosity after working hard to produce seedlings. I am happy to report that our learners have experienced a unique way of being independent through this noble initiative; many have even started similar projects as income-generating activities at their homes.”
Teacher’s sentiments about the project:
“Teachers at Onego Primary School deeply appreciate the Kijana project for involving us in their program. We have been incredibly impressed by the effort made by both the learners and the teachers at large. This project has truly inspired us, and we wish for it to continue for a long period. We would also like to request our Kijana partners to consider offering a trip and gifts to motivate our students in future projects.”
