“The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.”
Abraham Lincoln

Mwituha villager, Stanley Kennely Etumbili, is impressed at what has risen at Mwituha. He says he likes seeing the youth go to school so that they can learn what others know and what they don’t know and appreciate different perspectives. He thanks Kijana Educational Empowerment Initiative for the good work they have done. “We say Big Asante to the entire Kijana team and its donors for making this a success that we admire.” He finally says, “Our dream that one day we will have a school has come true.”

“He who opens a school door, closes a prison.”
Victor Hugo

Indeed what Kijana team has done is quite commendable. As one of the people who taught at Mwituha during its nascent stages of development,I envy the work done by Jim and his team of transforming the school from a ramshackle kind of thing to a success story. The onus is now with the teachers, students, parents and the community at large to reward Jim by posting excellent results so that Mwituha stands to be counted among the creme de la creme of modern day exam performers.

To the Kijana team, what lacks is just the best term to appreciate the wonderful work you are doing. However, that won’t deter me from saying thank you very much for investing in the young people. To paraphrase once philosopher …if you want to invest for 100 years, invest in people.I believe that is exactly what you are doing;investing not only in people but in gold(the young) and your work will stand generations to come.

    Asante sana.
